Thank You!
Thank you to all our friends and supporters who ran in the BUPA 10K Run for the Five Stars Appeal.
This year we had 30 runners of varying ages and fitness but they all finished the run and collectively have raised in the region of £5,500 for the appeal. Well done to you all!!
Thankyou to Julia Crook and all the team @ Marshmallows Day nursery - Darwen.
The Five Stars would like to thank the children of Marshmallows Nursery who took part in a sponsored "assault course". This very special fundraiser was part of our "Quid for a Kid" campaign which holds a special place in the hearts of Marshmallows staff and children as "Chief" of the initiative is former pupil Madison Allan.
Little Maddi attended the nursery up until July when unfortunately she had to return to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Her friends at Marshmallows showed their love and support for their brave playmate by raising over £2000 for the campaign and the money is still coming in!!!!
Below are pictures of some of Maddi's friends making the way around the course. Pictured are:
Mason Mallord (3), Lola Baron (4), Evelyn Lucas (4) and Lucy Freeman (4)

Thankyou to Melanie Leaford - Pembec High School Wigan
A special thankyou this month goes to Melanie Leaford of Pembec High School in Wigan. Teacher Melanie organised a very special Schools Aria at the JJB Marquee that not only gave eleven youngsters from local schools the chance to shine, but also raised thousands of pounds for both our charity and "Schools South Africa".
The event honoured a very brave little boy named Liam Lynch who for five years was a ray of sunshine to all those who knew and loved him and will be very sadly missed.
